After applying to hundreds of position for few months on their website the recruiter called me for finding out my interest in the job. Another recruiter from a different branch called to schedule the in person interview. The recruiter sent me forms to fill in and requested me to send it back; I asked if it was ok for me to hand it during my in-person visit. The recruiter was ok with that. On the day of interview I met with the HR person ; she was friendly and I think I did fairly well in the interview. The recruiter mentioned about the confusion regarding the job; she thought that this job had direct reports but seems like that has changed and they were looking for individual contributor. The next interview was with the Hiring Manager and my peer. This meeting went downhill from there. The hiring manager's attire was not professional but I maintained my calmness and was able to address the interviewers questions. In a couple of days I was called to be informed that I did not get the job. I was happy that I did not get the job and cursed myself for taking a day off from my vacation.
