Truly bizarre experience. I had a recruiter reach out and I liked the scope of the job. We scheduled remote interviews, but I got a mix of interviewers with both an eager and welcoming energy on one end, and combative, arrogant and apathetic on the other. People I'd be working with closely mind you. When you lead an interview with "this role isn't a 40 hour work week", it's not exactly painting an attractive picture and less so for the amount of money they had proposed for the job. I'm sure the job may require heavy lifting, but there's ways to sell a job without completely turning a candidate off... I couldn't help but interpret that as expect to be overworked and burned out when you work for us. I had to laugh in the interviewer's face and at that point I just let them ramble away... I did a brief case study which was doable, but I was assigned to do it in less time than I was told so I couldn't provide more insights in the allotted time I had. At some point of the interview I knew this was not going to be a fit, and I imagine whoever does go into this role should expect to leave within a year with what's expected of them. I'd never interviewed with financial services before, and honestly not a pleasant experience.
