      Colloquio per Practice Manager

      31 ago 2013
      Dipendente anonimo
      Offerta accettata
      Esperienza positiva
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Banfield Pet Hospital

      Colloquio

I applied online, and within a week or so received an initial interview call from HR. Her first question was about my salary requirements - make sure you give a realistic amount, as it sounded like a ton of applicants had been disqualified by saying they wanted six figures (apparently they didn't realize what field they were getting into). She asked basic "tell me a time when" questions, nothing too difficult, and explained more about the position and interviewing process. I understood my next interview would be with the field director, and then I would have a half-day shadow at the hospital to make sure I was a good fit with the team. Set up an interview with the field director for about a week later. He was flying in, and I had to meet him at a hotel lobby closer to the airport so it was about a 90 min drive each way. Very odd interview - after about 5 minutes of basic questions, he leaned back and said "so what questions do you have for me?" I've always taken that to be the round-up to an interview, and figured I'd failed it on some level if he was already looking for it to end. But however annoying I may have seemed, I kept it going with questions about the company and position for about another 40 minutes. I finally asked what the next steps were/when I'd hear back, and he said he would e-mail me within a week about a shadow at the hospital. He did get back to me, and we set up a day where I would shadow at one hospital about 90 minutes from the one I'd applied to, to shadow with the manager there for the morning. Then I would drive to the other hospital to finish out the day and meet the staff/Dr's. The first half went AMAZING. The manager was awesome, as were the staff, everything ran very smoothly and I could see myself in the position. At the hospital I'd be working at however, it was chaotic. Everyone was running around, seemed short-tempered, and when I sat down with the Dr for a quick interview she made some very odd comments about how people thought she was "mean and cold" - that should have tipped me off and turned me away. Came back from that and got in touch with the field director again, saying I was still interested. Figured an offer would be made soon, as I didn't think they had many people in for shadows. Nope, not done yet. I then had a phone interview with the medical director, who asked tougher questions. Still I must have made it past her, because I was then invited for yet another phone interview, this time with the regional VP. He was awesome, didn't ask anything crazy but apparently thought my questions were very well thought-out and more originally than previous applicants. A day or so after the last phone interview, I got a call back from the field director with an offer. The whole process was very long and thorough - I've never had that so many interviews for any previous position.

Very drawn out interview process with little respect for the candidate’s time. Several broken promises in terms of timeframe as well as offer details. I wasn’t expecting much, but I still came out disappointed

      Colloquio

Was reached out by field leader to set 30 minutes interview without me applying for the position. Did that one then a week later had a second interview with same person and a peer of hers. After that interview I was told that I would be notified of the results the next day whether selected or not. Mind you again, I didn’t applied so I had no official communication from them. I tried to call and text and email but the leader never responded. I took that as a negative thing. Even if I was offered a position I wouldn’t had taken it given the fact that the leader is hard to reach. Both interviews were in the span of a week. The position was filled a month after initial contact.

For this role you will meet with team onsite at the location you are being interviewed for. The field manager, HR, ACOS and then the VP of Operations being the final interview.
