Colloquio
The first step in the interview process was wonderful. I spoke with their Director of HR, Erika, and she made the interview natural and comfortable and left me with a really good impression about the firm. Although I don't anticipate being one of the chosen candidates due to their seemingly competitive hiring process, it was a wonderful experience regardless and I will be keeping my eye on openings here in the future as a result.

Q: What sort of projects do you currently work on?
Overall, the interview felt more like a conversation, so I can barely remember the specific questions she asked me.
Erika Kirkwood sandwiched in my interview between like a dozen other people and only gave me 30 minutes. I get that it was a first round interview, but it honestly felt in-personable and disrespectful. She was pretty outgoing, but she couldn't speak to any of the specifics of the position and she hid behind, "I'm just HR, I don't do visa work."
Also they send out a logic assessment called, "gorilla test." It's a very unintuitive test and it's impossible to prepare for and also requires you to use your camera...invasive much?

Colloquio
The interview I had with Erica, the firm's HR Director, was one of the most humane I've had in months. While she asked some interview questions, I felt as though it was more of a two-way conversation. She was genuinely interested in making sure that I'd like to work there. Great interviewer and strong mentor type.
I did not get called back for the second interview and I was really disappointed but I was not left guessing about the job. Erica explained the hiring process in full, so I didn't feel like I was ghosted. I walked away with the impression that this is a quality firm to work with. I will keep an eye on any future openings. There is a high value placed on the ability to write and communicate well.
