Had a phone interview with the outside recruiter, then phone interview with the Hiring Manager, then was invited to headquarters in Charleston to meet with several people. Spent 1/2 day at the headquarters and met with a Sales Operations person, the Hiring Mgr, and CEO. Was suposed to meet with 2 other people, but they were not available since were out sick. The actual office building was impressive, looked very new and professional. My interview schedule was disorganized since 2 people were not able to meet with me because of illness and they had a difficult time finding a replacement. Entire interview process was very casual, not alot of typical interview questions. Sales territories are fairly small with less than 200 prospects (companies with >1,000 employees).

Tell me about your experience selling Benefits services/products?
It took 4 weeks to get the first phone screen with a recruiter who was late but apologized. I didn’t hear any follow up until someone called to say the position was on hold. This was 6 weeks after my first contact so I did not follow up.

Extensive process and credentials are important. Cognitive test, personality test, executive presentation, drug test and a background check. They don't carelessly hire anyone. It's also important to have extensive experience and past success.
