I recently went through the Beyond VA recruitment process and, unfortunately, encountered several challenges along the way. The prolonged six-month timeline, the need for multiple follow-ups without receiving responses and the duplication of information collected at different stages made the experience frustrating and inefficient.
One of my biggest concerns was the lack of clarity regarding the original Education Programme Coordinator role I applied for. My skills and experience aligned well with this position, which is why I applied for it specifically—rather than a general Virtual Assistant role. However, I never received a clear explanation as to why my skills were considered difficult to place or what became of the role itself. This lack of transparency left me questioning the entire process.
From a candidate’s perspective, these factors contribute to uncertainty and make it difficult to stay engaged and confident in the hiring process. Timely communication, transparency, and efficiency are crucial in ensuring candidates feel valued and respected—areas where Beyond VA could significantly improve.
Additionally, after reviewing online feedback from previous candidates, I noticed that many have raised similar concerns about communication and clarity. My experience only reinforced these concerns. I hope Beyond VA takes this feedback into account to improve their recruitment process for future applicants.
