I have applied online. Some time after that I was contacted by someone in the Professional Services team asking me about my availability to interview for the position. I have submitted my availability. Within days I have received a blunt rejection response saying: “As promised, we are following up on your application to the Project Manager opening at Blackbaud. We have reviewed a large number of applicants and have identified the candidates we feel are the best match for the position requirements. Therefore, we will not be moving forward with your candidacy for this position. Our decision is not a reflection on the quality of your background and experience and we encourage you to consider applying to additional openings at Blackbaud, which you can review on our Careers Site. We’ll contact you right away if you are qualified for another position to which you apply! We would like to thank you again for your interest in a career with Blackbaud and we hope to hear from you again. The Blackbaud Recruiting Team” Considering that there was no interview after being asked for my availability to interview this is really an extremely poor candidate experience. I understand that you have a large pool of candidates to choose from which is great. But if you say something walk the talk don’t invite people to think they will be considered for the role when clearly you had no intention to do so! I did expected more of you Blackbaud. Not the extraordinary but at least you walking the talk of the corporate values for which you claim to stand.

While I did not get the position, I had a very positive experience. I had 2 phone interviews and then an all day in-person with the team. Everyone seemed great to work with and it was a positive experience. The hardest part was that they did require a project/presentation on a topic , but that was not difficult.
