Colloquio
I got called to interview by someone on the Body Details team. They acted like I already had the job before I even had the interview and were discussing compensation, training, when I will start, more details about the job, etc. We did set up an interview but it seemed it would be more for the sake of formality. The interviewer was really nice and the questions were easy. We mostly reviewed my resume briefly and she told me what to expect of the position. I felt it went very well. At the very end of the interview she asked me if I had children, which is most certainly illegal to ask. I was caught off guard but did answer the question truthfully and then she went on to explain in no uncertain terms that work life balance was not something I’d get at this company. She explained that the hours are long and often at times where employees with children will not get to see much of their kids except for to “tuck them in at night.” Not surprisingly, I got a denial email the next day. Not happy about the illegal line of questioning, but honestly it seems like I dodged a bullet. I’ve also noticed they’ve posted an identical position for the next town over (no change in cost of living) and are now offering about 6k less in salary.
