Once selected for an interview by the hiring managers, I scheduled a phone interview through the staffing agency. Once the hiring managers and the staffing agency confirm the schedule of the interview, I'm reminded of the interview schedule. The hiring manager calls me, and introduce me to the specifics of what I'll be doing on the job, and then starts asking questions on my resume.
After this phone interview, in two weeks, I find out if I get to move up in the hiring process.
Lastly, the next step is an onsite interview, with a tour of the plant, and then an offer is extended to the candidates.

Applied online in May. Next day I was no longer under consideration. August received an invitation to interview but told I would have to apply for the job that I was already no longer considered for. When I contacted the staffing analyst he told me that it wasn't a problem and they gave me a time to show up for the interview. Next day I was sent a job application to fill out before the interview. Drove to the interview which was 500 miles away in Atlanta. (The job was in Washington) Thought it was strange that a company this size didn't pay for the expense of going to the interview. The interview process was everything other people here have warned me about so I was ready. What they didn't warn me about was that I would be in a huge room with one tiny table in the middle and I would be sitting on one side and two people sat on the other taking turns asking questions. All were in the STAR format. Afterwards, I was told that I would hear one way or the other in two weeks.

None of it was unexpected. Just study example STAR interview questions and read the position posting carefully. The questions were based on what your duties will be.
