Interviewed for a bookkeeping role and was confidently assured by a VP "you will receive an e-mail within 24 hours whether or not we want to move forward, and the reasons why". This wasn't true at all. I did eventually receive a response after much much longer than promised, which was a generic rejection. It's fine if you don't want to hire someone, but job searching is stressful enough - there's really no excuse to lie to candidates, and from a VP of all people.
