Submitted my resume in late 2007, didn't hear back until early 2008. Once a recruiter got back to me, they scheduled interviews where I was brought in with a bunch of other people. It was a little awkward. I interviewed with 4 different people, though no case interview questions were posed. They basically asked me about my background and why I was interested in consulting.

The process is competitive and has many steps to it. They really care about how you would fit within the team along with your skills and experience. You do end up meeting quite a few people as you move through the process.
