I initially had a positive experience with the recruiter and hiring manager, both of whom I spoke with via Zoom. However, the interview with the director was a stark contrast. From the moment we started, I could sense a lack of interest on their part. There was no review of my resume or introductions made - we just jumped straight into the interview. The director mentioned they’d give me 5 minutes at the end for questions, but this felt more like a formality than something they valued.
Throughout the interview, the director asked very basic, standard questions, as if simply ticking off a checklist, without making an effort to truly understand my background or skills. When I had the opportunity to ask questions at the end, the answers were brief and unhelpful. It was clear that the director had already made up their mind about me, and the conversation felt uninspiring and disengaged. It was a disappointing experience compared to the earlier stages of the process.

Tell me about a time where you encountered push back from a customer?
I had an interview with the recruiter and then another two rounds with two managers of CS. Pretty straightforward interviews of moderate difficulty. My main issue was the thoughtless rejection email I received after 3 rounds of interviews. I got the same email I would have received if my resume was passed over. No real thought went into it and it was quite cold, which was surprising because everyone I met was actually quite lovely.
Detailed but straightforward there was a 3 round interview with a presentation round, everyone was very personable and good communication throughout. Didn’t accept as got an offer more in line with my career progression.
