Colloquio
I applied online and was contacted shortly after by a producer by email. We set up a phone interview and he was super friendly and extremely easy to talk to! It felt a lot like talking to a friend rather than a phone interview which really put my nerves at ease.
A few days later I was contacted to do a remote writing test which we set up for the next day. I had 24 hours to do the writing test which was pitching three stories and pitching a video idea with photos/video to send to them. After that I was called into their office for an in person interview.
The in person interview was done in two interviews, the first being with the producer I spoke with on the phone and a coworker and the next being the head of HR and another person who was in charge but I can't remember his actual title because it was a month ago. The first interview was kind of reiterating what I had said on the phone for the new person in the room who I hadn't spoken with but it was also some new questions just so they could get to know me better and see if I was a good fit. I had thought that interview went pretty well and the people there answered all of the questions I had and I really appreciated it! The next interview was where I started doubting if I was going to get it or not...
During the second interview , the woman who works in HR was on her phone whenever she wasn't talking and I felt like that was very unprofessional. I could maybe understand if it was a work email or something more important than whatever I was talking about at the time but she seemed to just be scrolling on her phone so I felt very disrespected.
After the in person interviews, I was contacted again for another phone interview because they were having trouble deciding on who to chose. Ultimately, I was not chosen and was pretty heartbroken because I felt like I was passionate about the topic and had a decent professional background.
I have no hard feelings towards the company and actually would really still love to work for them especially after my in person interviews and seeing the company and how much people seemed to love their jobs there.

The editor I was in contact with took a long time to respond to emails. During my in person interview, she won't stop using her phone! She sounded so unenthusiastic and I even caught her yawning! She didnt even respond to my thank you note and my follow up email. So rude! A week after the in person interview, I saw another internship listing for the same position on Indeed and I can only assume I wasn't favored.
What a shame to Business Insider, you would think that BI employees are professional but no! I will never see Business Insider the same way again. What a shame. After all, I would not want to work for people like that.

Domanda 1
They asked me about my video editing and video equipment experience, which was odd since the job description says VIDEO EDITING EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED.
