4 interview process, all 30 minute Zoom meetings. The first was with the Recruiter, 2nd was with the CRO, the 3rd was with the Head of Project Management, the last was with the Head of Account Management. At no time were salary/benefits discussed (even at a high level), though the posting had a defined salary range.
All interviews went well. The Recruiter was very energetic and thought I would be a great fit. The 2nd interview with the Chief Revenue Officer was even better. He mentioned to me that I could possibly be the Head of Project Management due to my skillset instead of just a Project Manager. The 3rd and 4th interviews also went well and both Managers gave their contact information and mentioned how I would be a great fit.
Very long process just to be ghosted for two weeks and then finally told that they were pursuing other candidates. I sent a "thank you" email to all involved to thank them for their time, and to let me know if any other opportunities became available in the near future. I never heard back, and two days later, they had a new job opening on Indeed for the exact same position.
It all worked out (I got another offer from somewhere else), but it was a very odd process to be told how good of a fit I was throughout the process (and how I could have a role created as a head of the PM team) just to be told that they were pursuing other candidates.
