Applied online, had to chase recruiter several times to schedule initial interview. Onsite panel interview with COO and CMO followed. Tried my best to engage on a human level but could not connect with either as both were generally just out of touch. COO was microaggressive and contradictory whose nonverbals were a dead giveaway he didn’t like me from the start. Basically wanted someone available 24/7. CMO was nice and seemed more intelligent but made a throwaway comment that I researched her Facebook when there are online editorials on her. (Like, what? It’s not 2010.) I’d also mentioned three times that I read an article en route. A marketing expert should know their own digital footprint. Role required to be onsite 5x a week to manage the new office and due to the company culture’s “private equity feel.” (My fiancé’s a founding partner at a global PE firm with a hybrid working model btw.) Three separate roles are consolidated into one position at below-market rate. Rejected via automated system shortly after meeting… thank god.
