      Colloquio

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Not worth your tame. Steer clear of this company, they don't have the slightest clue what they are doing. First, an email, with a "hey, glad you applied, here are 300 questions we'd like you to answer in an essay format". Ok, maybe not 300, but a very large number. I wrote their essay. I was annoyed by some of the questions. "Are you a thought leader" ? Seriously ? Look, I get the need to toot my own horn, but I am not one to go about bragging about what I've done. My corpus of work and impact stands nicely on its own, and if you cannot do the due diligence based upon the resume (which touches on all this stuff), you probably aren't worth my time. My essay was 13 pages or so. Took a week to complete, as I was/am still recovering from a significant surgery. Honestly, when I saw that essay request, I realized that their processes were broken beyond repair. That someone in leadership signed off on this process is an indictment of that leadership. Which means a very broken company. I continued out of morbid curiosity, expecting to be booted out of the process at any moment. Then came the psychological test. Which, as with the essay, was labeled "very important". So I took it. I had no problem with it in general, but as noted, recovering from a significant procedure, on various pain killers, my fingers misclicked on a few buttons. No biggie. 1 day later I got the rejection I expected. What a complete waste of time. I strongly recommend all fellow HPC practitioners stay far away from this company. They really don't know what they are doing with a simple thing like hiring. Imagine how bad their other processes are. Imagine how bad their senior leadership, which greenlit processes like this are.
