I had an initial 30-min interview with HR did not lead to offer. Standard questions and nice interviewer who followed up with me shortly after to let me know their decision.
The interview process started as expected. For the first round I met with the recruiter over a 45 min zoom and was invited to the second round with the director, expecting it to take place within the next few business days. I also informed them where I was in the hiring process with other companies. After a few business days of not hearing from the team, I followed up and received an invite a day or so later. Second round interview was a-ok. Although I did not meet with the director as expected it was a great, open conversation with another implementation manager. The focus was diving deep into role responsibilities, challenges and team culture. Fortunately I received an offer from the other org I was interviewing with and informed the recruiter of my situation. The evening prior to deadline day, I received an invitation to interview with the Director of Implementations. I took the interview for the next day -- 30 min -- Zoom. Before the interview ended, I informed him of my situation as well. I then followed up directly with the recruiter to remind them of my situation. The next day was I received a generic email saying they wouldn't be extending an offer. Note to team: Practice what you preach and be mindful - the interview process needs improvement. Set your talent up for success -- a lot of us unemployed folk are working odd jobs, crazy hours, to pay bills, to support loved ones, to simply survive. An invitation to interview the evening before a decision has to be made isn't ideal. Prepare -- please look into the candidate before interview day. We can tell when you're looking at a resume/LI profile and are unprepared by the questions asked. It takes life out of the interview, and leaves talent with a poor impression. Please do better.
