I had 4 rounds. 1st round was a technical interview and the remaining 3 rounds were more about fitment and people management. Few technical questions were asked as well.
The first 3 interviewers were pleasant, but the last round interviewer was one of the worst I've encountered. He's someone who setup the analytics teams in the company and was with them for 13 years. He lectured me around why someone shouldn't switch companies often and one should be loyal to a company by being with it during its good & tough times. He went to add that at times, one can be sidelined while others grow, but your turn will eventually come if you stay long. Honestly, I found this stupid. Just because he got several promotions and growth (out of luck or due to favoritism), doesn't mean everyone else will experience the same. He later asked the offer I was holding and started negotiating with me on how much they can offer. He initially said they cannot match what I'm holding. Then he reduced 1 lakh from the offer I was holding to which I said okay. After I said yes, he then again reduced 1 lakh. I found this really cheap, stupid and waste of my time. I wasn't expecting this from a senior stakeholder that too in the last round. After a few days of the 4th round, I get a courtesy call from HR stating that they've decided to promote someone internally to close the position.
I had clearly mentioned my notice period, current offer that I was holding, last working date etc to the HR during the initial telephonic call. If they wanted someone who can join early and that too for less salary, they should not have considered my profile and wasted my time for interviews. Really stupid HR and management.
Anyone applying to Capillary in the future, please keep these points in mind so that you don't have to go through my bad experience.
