      Colloquio per Information Systems

      3 nov 2009
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Nessuna offerta
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite l'università. La procedura ha richiesto un giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Capital One nel mese di ott 2009

      Colloquio

My interview date and time was moved because the person who was supposed to do the IS interviews was "sick". I was sent e-mails informing me of how the interview process would proceed. The interview was a case study, which I had never done before. They read you a business situation which was something like this: you are the new CEO of a ferry line. Your competitors are a train and bus service. We were then asked what kind of additional information we might like to know before we started our first day on the job. We were then provided with the times the ferry ran, the percent of capacity the ferry was carrying on average each day, etc. We eventually had to do some math to figure out how much market share the ferry line was getting as compared to the train and bus. NO CALCULATOR. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I was raised and taught using a calculator, so you can imagine how stupid I felt sitting there scratching out 175, 7 times because I can't do 175*7 in my head. When I finally got the answer, that was basically the end of the interview. NO questions about myself. And they didn't even ask if I had questions for them. How the he** are you supposed to learn anything about your candidate if you don't ask them any questions? Granted, this was also for an IS position, NOT a finance position, so I didn't fully understand why I was being asked to do a case study anyway?? I've been on a ton of interviews, and this was by far, the worst.

      Domanda 1

What additional information would you need about your company before starting your first day as CEO?
