Was sent an e-mail giving a set rate of pay for the position and to schedule an interview via phone. After the phone interview, I was given an excel document with data to perform tasks and send back to the hiring manager. I was then sent an email regarding the excel spreadsheet stating I was inadvertently sent information and was required to sign an attestation that I had deleted the file. It seems that the data on the spreadsheet contained confidential information, and that file should not have been sent out. I was told by the hiring manager that this was the case, and was told that I would be contacted soon. Approximately a week and a half later I was sent a boiler-plate e-mail staying they were pursuing other candidates for the position. The process was strange, and left me feeling not only uneasy about the company, but also disappointed that although the hiring manager told me someone would be contacting me - they send an automated message about the position. I think this place is pretty sketchy.
