Was contacted about an interview by HR and spoke with the hiring manager shortly thereafter. It was simple enough - ran through my resume and was asked about different scenarios in my work. Nothing terribly specific - “when was a time you faced a difficult challenge with data”, that sort of thing. I was scheduled for a second round with a senior manager where I was told I would need to walk through some SQL code I had written and explain my code/decisions. I ended up turning down the second round interview as I accepted an offer elsewhere. Overall, this did not seem like a Data Scientist position at all, and the hiring manager agreed that they more or less made up the title.
