They had me complete a task with an estimated time of ‘1 hour’, with no interview guaranteed. The task was to make a virtual telescope from scratch using Java or C#. I got the interview and prepared for the questions that one of the interviewers sent to me through email, containing forwarded messages about former task suggestions that did not match the prompt document. None of the questions in the prompt were asked when the time came. I was interviewed by three people, the manager and two firmware engineers. The interview was somewhat disorderly and some questions were asked again, even though I had already answered them. When asked about previous experience, I mentioned a modern language I had been working with for some time, to perform job duties relevant to the position. They did not pry further because they ‘did not understand it’.
