Colloquio
Was initially contacted by a third party recruitment firm to check suitability for Insurance domain mainframe programmer role for a US Insurance major. In total there were three rounds. First with a India based Centric colleague for filtering. Followed by second with two US Centric colleagues(tele) and final one being directly with customer(Skype) who had requested for this position. Company is very picky about whom they hire as they follow same process and requirement as they have in US. Hence the process is slightly long (took a solid month end to end). At the time of writing completed three months in Centric India, certainly a good decision to join!

Filtration round was dominantly technical to assess mainframe coding skills(one liners) but going forward questions became more and more domain oriented(scenario based) as in last round very few technical questions were asked. In last round main focus was on my understanding of BFSI domain specially Insurance domain and communication skills. This could have been because of my past experience being better aligned to the requirement.

Colloquio
I recently attended an interview with Centric Consulting, and unfortunately, it was not a positive experience.
The interviewer, despite being at a senior level, lacked the ability to drive the conversation effectively. The questioning style felt extremely basic, more suited to someone with junior-level experience. The job description emphasized domain knowledge, yet only two domain-related questions were asked, and even those were chosen arbitrarily rather than being aligned with real-world project experience. The interviewer seemed more interested in theoretical and textbook-based answers rather than practical insights.
Despite answering 95% of the questions correctly, the feedback received was unreasonable. The rejection was based on a skill that was of minimal importance in the JD, and the feedback on domain experience questions was completely unjustified. It appeared that the interviewer was either uninterested in genuine evaluation or lacked the expertise to assess real-world experience effectively.
The entire process gave the impression that the interview was conducted just for the sake of it—perhaps as a formality to show management that the team was actively recruiting. It felt like the company had already finalized a candidate and was merely holding additional interviews to maintain a backup option.
Final Thoughts - This experience was a complete waste of time. If Centric Consulting is not genuinely considering candidates, they should not schedule interviews and mislead applicants. Such practices reflect poorly on the HR team and can harm the company’s reputation in the long run. I sincerely hope the company revisits its hiring process to ensure fairness and professionalism.

They did a great job of setting expectations and informing me what to be prepared for in each interview round (e.g., technical, behavioral, work samples, etc.). Follow up after each round was timely.
