He emphasized the fact that while the contract says you work 8:30 Am to 5:30 PM he expects you to be in there by 8 Pm and leave at 6 PM. He made sure to convey that the expectation is you’re working between 50 and 60 hours a week. He said that you remain at $50,000 until you are promoted. He said that could be anywhere from six months to a year. Here’s the important part: if you break that down it is about $19 an hour for 50 hours a week and $16 an hour for 60 hours a week. That being said, if you’re willing to take this kind of pay for a year, he claims that you can make $100,000 a year. That being said that is contingent on commission as far as I can tell the base salary does not go up. Once you get the promotion to a full recruiter and that $100,000 is made up of that base pay of $16-$19 an hour plus what you make in commission. If you are willing to take this risk, then perhaps the job will be for you. It certainly wasn’t the job I would expect someone with a college degree to take.
