After an initial screening with the recruiter, and a coding assessment via Karat, I was scheduled for an interview. I was told that "this will not be a technical interview, no coding will be involved." Accordingly, the interviewer explained that the interview was not knowledge based and then goal was to learn about my background and how I work in a team. Then proceeded with a rapid fire of technical questions, cutting me off whenever I tried to elaborate or contextualize my answers. Admittedly the questions were generic knowledge based exercises; a recent graduate or someone who is actively studying for technical interviews would easily have the answers ready.
