I went to a job fair, which was chaos. It was really unorganized and you'd spend half your time waiting in line to try to talk to anyone to then set up an interview. I then got an interview at one school and they had me come in. They didn't make me teach an example lesson, which should have been a huge red flag. They pretty much lied about the entire experience at their school and I hated my life and ended up quitting.
It took about a month before any school reached out for an interview. The actual interview process was very straight forward. I had one virtual interview and got a job offer the next day.

I found the listing on CPS's website. I emailed the principal and was called in for an interview. I interviewed with both of the assistant principals. The conversation was supposed to take 10-15 minutes, but I was there for 45 minutes. I let them know that I had a interview the next morning and that I had already interviewed with another school. I was home for about an hour when the principal called me and asked if I could drive back to the school for my second round interview. I immediately went back to the school and the principal offered me the position. She then showed me my classroom and introduced me, to a few teachers, as the new 3rd grade teacher. She said she would send me the offer when she got home, but I never received an email. I sent her a thank you email the next morning, but no reply. My interview was on a Thursday, she finally emailed me Sunday evening to let me know that she was having trouble with HR. She also wanted me to do a demo lesson. I needed an endorsement for that specific school, which I did not have and the principal/assistant principals knew that I did not have it. The idea of teaching a demo lesson was frustrating because I would be interviewing for a job that I already had. The assistant principal left me a voicemail that Tuesday to let me know that HR would not let them hire me, but that they would keep my info on file. Thankfully, I followed through with my other interviews and decided on another school.
