I applied online and then got a call about a week later to come in for an interview. The online application was pretty straightforward. It asked basic questions like "What makes you a good candidate?" and "What are your hobbies". I went in for the interview at 10AM (an hour before opening time) and saw a couple of other people waiting outside of doors. It turned out to be a group interview with six others around my age. The general manager let us in and gave us a very detailed run down of the company. She told us about her own career in Chipotle, her expectations, what the work is like, etc... She really emphasized hiring from within, and the prospect of moving up in ranks. During her talk, she asked some questions, giving people a chance to say something and contribute. I didn't say much at all. We went around and introduced ourselves and our hobbies. And then took a tour of the back. After the tour she pulled people out for one on ones. In the one-on-one she asked me a few more questions. But I got the sense she already knew a lot about me and what I had to offer from the written application, the interview was just to get a sense of my personality. After just two or three questions she told me I was a good candidate and that she would like to hire me on the spot. The general manager really knew what she was talking about and was really enthusiastic about her work. The interview process was really smooth, easy, and professional.
