Firstly when I heard Christie's wanted to interview me, I was beyond excited and ready to take the challenge of what Christie's had to offer. The first interview was a face to face with the team and it was amazing and ended up being a positive outcome as I received an verbal offer that very day. Unfortunately, I had to go back in for an interview for another face to face the next day which wasn't ideal, but I was happy to do it as this was an impression of a formality to confirm the offer. The question I was asked at the end of the interview was abit too personal and felt it was irreverent to the interviewing process. I thought nothing of it and exited the interview with a stride in my step. After a few days (which I was told by my recruiter, that they were sorting an offer) I then was made aware Christie's were retracting my offer.... on the basis of the personal questions they asked me; "What do you do now for work?" Firstly, its my business what I do for work outside of my career and felt from the feedback was unfair and discriminated against my background. I was not impressed with the interview process, there was not job description and they had my CV printed in front of of them during the interview, which is not GDR compliant. When I spoke to the recruiter after my interview, to find out actual constructive feedback, I didn't receive anything. I have been left with a bitter taste with my experience and would not recommend anyone to apply who is looking to work for a diverse & supportive company. Their opinion was also that they thought my name was weird, which I found completely inappropriate.
