Got contacted by software dev. manager by email and invited for the interview. All process was somewhat weird. When I arrived they've told me the senior manager who makes decisions (whether to hire a person or not) is on vacation. The guy who conducted the interview looked bored even before interview started. He called 2 software developers to ask me technical questions. I got interviewed for an hour and pretty much answered all the technical questions. The guy who conducted interview was not interested in conversation and kept telling developers to wrap it up, but they kept asking me questions which I didn't mind at all. After interview ended I had a feeling it went well. But at the same time had a feeling it was very weird. The guy who conducted interview told me "ping me in one week if nobody contacts you". Nobody contacted me. I sent them email asking if there is going to be a second round and immediately got template response from senior manager: "Thank you, but unfortunately no". After talking with locals in Ottawa, I was told most likely this interview was just a formality. They knew in advance they are to hire other person. Basically whole thing was waste of time.
