Colloquio per Associate Sales Representative (CSAP)

      10 set 2019
      Dipendente anonimo
      Research Triangle Park, NC
      Offerta accettata
      Esperienza positiva
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Cisco (Research Triangle Park, NC) nel mese di nov 2018

      Colloquio

The interview consists of 3 parts spanning a 3ish month process: 1. Video Interview Submission - Create a 2-minute video based on the prompt. My prompt essentially asked how my experience could contribute to a successful career in Sales at Cisco. This is a weed-out round as the CSAP program receives 20,000+ applications per year. Be creative, show your personality, and tell a story throughout. You only have 2 minutes to differentiate yourself from 20,000 others, so use it wisely. 2. Behavioral Interview over Webex - This is a 30 minute behavioral interview with a Cisco Account Manager. There is nothing technical in this interview, but make sure you know how to articulate your story/experience, your interest in Cisco specifically, and your interest in Sales specifically. Those are the main things the hiring staff is looking for in this round. 3. Assessment Center (In-Person) - This is an all-day interview in Cisco's RTP campus in North Carolina. If you're selected for this round and from out-of-town, Cisco will pay for your flight and hotel for the trip. The Assessment Center consists of 4 parts: 1. Technical Quiz (10 Questions) - This portion is a straightforward multiple choice quiz on networking basics, and you are given material to study from before the interview. 2. Behavioral Interview (30 Minutes) - This is another behavioral interview with a panel consisting of some combination of Cisco Account Manager(s) and CSAP Program Manager(s). 3. Presentation (10 Minutes + 5 Minutes of Q&A) - This is a presentation based on a prompt provided before the assessment center. Do your research on Cisco products beforehand and create a compelling, creative presentation that directly answers the prompt. My prompt asked me to explain how Cisco can revolutionize the university education experience. 4. Role Play (20 Minutes + 10 Minutes of Feedback) - This is a "discovery meeting" role play where you are expected to ask the right questions to uncover a customer's needs and preview some potential solutions so you can garner interest and schedule a follow-up meeting where you and your Sales Engineer would explain the solution at a deeper level. Make sure to open the meeting by building rapport, ask questions surrounding their problems and desired business outcomes, and close the meeting by scheduling a follow-up. Do not spend too much time or go too in-depth with products and solutions.

      Colloquio

I went through a moderate application process. After not hearing anything for two weeks, the HR employee informed me that I have a good profile but lack experience. This was evident from my resume, making the process a waste of time. They suggested gaining sales experience elsewhere and reapplying after six months.

      Colloquio

The interview process was a long and strenuous process, but CISCO's reputation and benefits made the risk appear worth it at the time. If you don't have time to wait on their answer, look elsewhere! I interviewed with Cisco over the course of four months through a referral, and several other virtual conversations before I was officially entered into the formal interview pipeline. I loved meeting everyone there and it was clear they loved their jobs, however, communication throughout the process on the recruiting/HR side was abysmal. I finished my final round interview, their "Virtual Assessment Center" (which took about 12-15 hours of preparation) over a month ago, and still have received no update as to whether or not I was offered the role. I reached out to several contacts on the HR and recruitment side that I had met throughout the process in order to gain some insight, but haven't received any insight. Huge bummer and wouldn't have minded being told no, but the lack of communication was a bit surprising. Might be a product of the recent layoffs going on in tech, or maybe some mismanagement, but either way, in my opinion I'd stay away if your time frame is limited in finding work.

Short interview asking basic sales questions. Interviewer seemed disinterested and going through the motions. Told me favorite thing about working at Cisco wasn't culture or benefits or community but the paycheck.
