Code on some algorithm - Please not they didn't accept the pseudo-code, they need to the code in a programming language.

I have given the answer in Pseudocode, i am sure I have given the logical explanation. But interviewer rejected and asked me to write the actual code. I didn't remember the syntax of the same. He didn't allow me some time to go through the syntax.
