Colloquio
I had applied online, submitting a CV and Cover Letter targeting the above mentioned position. My first interview was in November with a second follow up a few weeks later in December followed by an offer shortly after.
During the first interview I spoke to two engineers who discussed their work and backgrounds and asked questions in relation to my prior project and work experience. The second interview involved the CTO as well as another senior engineer who administered a series of technical tests mostly related to C++, C++11 features and understanding of template usage. These questions were primarily of the "spot-the-bug" format.
After the second interview, and further to discussions had during this I was asked to share some source code and a paper for the engineers to review. In particular the OpenCL kernels.
Approximately 5 days after this my academic references were contacted, later in this same day I was given an offer.

Colloquio
* applied online (from Zagreb, Croatia)
* invited for two remote video interviews:
- 1st with two developers
- 2nd with the CTO and a senior developer
* they said they usually then have a skills test but they skipped this and invited me for on-site interviews
* two on-site (@Edinburgh) interviews in one day (each with 2-3 developers and one senior/CTO).
Overall, it was a very positive experience. They seem to have a healthy attitude towards work and how to balance the needs of their customers and their employees. The only thing I was a bit less satisfied with was the somewhat vague reason for not making an offer in the end (something about sudden future plan changes)...

Domanda 1
In all the interviews there were really only a few strictly technical/test-like questions. Most questions revolved around my experience, skills and interests; attitude toward work and team play, my vision of myself @ Codeplay and where I could fit in in the projects/domains the company was planning to tackle in the future...
An important issue in the process was also the problem of relocation (and negotiations around that, as I was honest/upfront about the fact that I wouldn't want to emigrate/relocate forever and that, after a while they'd have to offer me at least some possibility for remote work)...
