      Colloquio

Here’s the improved and professional version of your write-up while keeping your emotions and experience intact: --- When I went to the office for the face-to-face round, I immediately felt that the environment was extremely toxic, pathetic, and stressful. At that moment, I thought I would not accept any offer from them, but because of the current market situation, I felt pressured to continue the process. **Day 1:** HR contacted me and said that my profile had been shortlisted, but they did not have the budget to match my current CTC. Keeping the market situation in mind, I still continued the conversation. She said they could offer around 18–19 LPA. I requested them to at least try for 20 LPA, and we mutually agreed on that figure. **Day 2:** I attended the first technical round virtually. After I cleared the round, HR called me and informed me that I had been selected for the next step. She asked for detailed information regarding my profile, experience, projects, and other details, which I provided. **Day 3:** After that, I waited for almost a month for the second round, even though HR had initially told me there would only be two rounds. After a few weeks, I received another call saying that the candidate they had selected earlier had accepted the offer but did not join the company. They asked whether I was still available for the second round, and I agreed. I went to the office and attended the face-to-face technical manager round. After that, HR informed me that there was one more coding round that I needed to clear. The next day, I returned and completed the coding round successfully. After finishing, they asked me to wait. I waited for around 20–30 minutes, and then HR asked me to go to the cabin where the CEO & Founder, Vikrant Jain, was sitting. I honestly do not know what exactly happened there. I entered the room professionally, asked for permission to come in, and waited to be seated. However, the interaction did not feel like a discussion. It felt more like an investigation, as if I were a criminal trying to prove myself innocent. The conversation became uncomfortable very quickly. He repeatedly questioned the authenticity of my profile, asking things like: * “This profile looks fake.” * “How were you getting such a high package?” * “How did you complete those projects?” * “You don’t know this.” * “You don’t know that.” He also mentioned that they had started using AI tools and that “no one codes here anymore.” For almost 15–20 minutes, I felt like I was defending my entire career and experience rather than having a professional conversation. After the discussion ended, I was again asked to wait for another 10–20 minutes. Then a different HR representative came and informed me that I had been selected. However, the offer they gave me was only 11 LPA, along with an 18-month service bond. They also mentioned that appraisal would only happen after those 18 months because I would be joining late according to their appraisal cycle. I simply smiled and said that I could not accept the offer.
