Cognizant's backend developer interview process typically involves aptitude/communication tests, followed by technical rounds focusing on core Java/Python, OOPs, Data Structures, SQL, and your project experience, culminating in an HR/Managerial round testing behavioral fit, clarity, and confidence for the role, with a strong emphasis on fundamental concepts and practical application.

First interview was with HR which was conducted in a very open and friendly manner. Was given a test to do at home. The test was pretty easy and passed it with 96/100 score. I had to calculate the sum of the 2 largest numbers in an array, make a given class uninheritable, GET,POST methods exercise. Then was the technical interview which was also conducted in a pretty relaxed and friendly manner. Questions about Rest, Design Patterns, Pipelines, a lot of questions about previous experience. I did pretty well and was satisfied, however I got ghosted after that. Didn't received even a rejection message.
