Colloquio per Lead C# .NET Developer

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Colibrium (Bellevue, WA)

      Colloquio

It was a very nice process - I really appreciated how hands on their recruiting approach was. The interviewers were very thoughtful and truly understand their platform and what they were looking for. The initial screen, outlined in a couple other reviews on this page, consisted on some minor manipulations to a webforms application. Anyone who has done any programming in webforms will push through it pretty quickly - just remember to including the System.Linq namespace. There's also a tiny bit of CSS manipulation involved. The in person interview was decent - there are two problems as outlined on by the other candidates on the glassdoor website. One involved sorting a List in a specific order using a Linq query, and the other involved wiring up a service reference to an asmx (not WCF) web service. This part wasn't working for me, and when they returned and I reviewed the code with them, the web services themselves weren't active - so it's probably a good idea to double check and make sure the asmx service is actually working before you begin the problem. The problems took about 45 minutes, and then we broke into some general discussion: 1) Know what interfaces and abstract classes do 2) Know pass by value vs. pass by reference (in terms of .NET/native types, not the actual mechanics of memory management) 3) Know how to talk about web forms and MVC architecture 4) Be prepared to discuss why/how to put items into your Biz layer vs. Presentation/UI layer I did ask some difficult questions about why they had so many negative reviews on the glassdoor website. They were prepared to offer professional responses - they are going through some growing pains and have some ex-employees that have expressed their negative opinions. I appreciated the candor and willingness to address the issues. Overall it was a very positive interview. The interviewees were knowledgeable in their subject matter and very willing to discuss the technology and how they were applying it. There was very little in terms of "gotcha" or one-upsmanship. I got the impression that they were very accommodating and really looking in depth at finding the perfect candidate. Jennifer was the director interview at the end, and had a good handle on the strategic direction of the product and was very willing to answer some high level questions. Unfortunately, I was not the candidate they were looking for, but it was an overall very decent interview process. They are looking for someone very specific and I would encourage anyone to go through the process and see if they are the right candidate.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

The LINQ query is fairly complex - they have an enum of the type they are trying to sort and want it to be in a different, specific order.
