This job matched my experience strongly in most areas and I came to the interview prepared with concrete examples. Unfortunately, the interviewer (an outside contractor) honed in on a small part of the job description that was actually described as a minor part of the role. That was the one area that my experience wasn't as strong in. She asked 5 detailed questions about that, and no questions about anything else. At the end, I asked what parts of the job description were most important to the hiring staff, and she mentioned just three things that she hadn't asked ANYTHING about! All three things are strongly in my background. I never heard from them again, and I'm still a little confused by the experience. I bet they weeded out some really strong contenders by not matching their interview questions to their priority skills and candidate experiences.

Again, very odd experience. Asked very specific tech question about something that required going "into the weeds about" - and the way she asked it told me that she didn't know anything about that field. This question was about a role skill that had been labeled as minor.

This was, hands down, the worst interview process that I've gone through. The entire process took 4 MONTHS (from my application submission in June 2024 to when I was ghosted by their useless HR in October 2024). I went through at least five interviews, all asking me the same questions. I received an email asking for me to attend an interview with the CEO in October; however, due to Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene, my power was out and I couldn't respond. As soon as my power came back, I followed up, only to be ghosted -- even though I was supposedly a "final candidate."
Looking at other reviews, at this point I'm convinced that this organization posts ghost jobs just to mess with everyone. Complete waist of my time.

Describe a time when you had to incorporate an equitable (racial/gender/socioeconomic/etc) lens into a project. What steps did you take? How did you measure it?

As other reviews have mentioned, the interview process here is LONG.
-30 min HR screening
-Hogan test
-Technical interview
-STAR interview
-Reference check
-Management panel interview
-CEO interview
I made it through until the reference check and it took over three months. Everyone I met with was extremely pleasant and made me feel comfortable during the actual interviews. Almost everyone I interacted with was BIPOC and it was split about 50-50 in terms of gender, which was nice. They said that having so many rounds was partially due to DEI, so maybe it is worth it if it works. That being said, it was a bit exhausting and felt overly drawn out. As others noted, there were times when weeks would go by without hearing anything. I got my rejection email 2.5 weeks after I had expected to hear about the next round, so I'm not sure if they were waiting to hear back from their top candidate's references before they let me know. And yes, it's a generic email. I personally don't care about that. To me, a no is a no and it doesn't really matter unless they are telling me I would be a good fit for another job specifically, but I know that really bothers some people.
TL; DR: Everyone was extremely nice and from what *I* saw, it appears to be a diverse organization/department, but the interview process is long and exhausting.

They give you the STAR questions 24 hours in advance, which is nice!
