Colloquio
I applied online through a 3rd party job site. A recruiter contacted me about a week later and set up interview for me and 2 hiring managers for the following week.
I did the phone interview (not video) with both managers. They asked the basic interview questions and then asked quite a few questions related to case management. I have minimal case management experience which is indicated on my resume and I also verbally told them this. They asked questions about how I would handle certain scenarios and how I would plan my day as a case manager. Most of the interview was them telling me how nice the company is to work for and how the CEO recognizes employees and takes care of them.
The phone interview took about 30 minutes, I was told to email either one of them if I have any questions (I wasn't given enough time during the interview to ask questions). I emailed both managers a separate thank you email and I also asked one of the managers a question. I asked what, if any, career development/advancement opportunities would be available to me if I was hired. This is extremely important to me because I'm in school for an advanced degree and will not work for a company that can't or won't develop its staff.
Of course I didn't get any response to my question. However, I did get a follow up email from the other manager which included a fictitious case study and I was asked how I would prioritize and handle the situation. I never responded to it. If a company can't answer a candidate's question and just completely ignores the question, that's a red flag for me. And that should be a red flag for anyone. An interview is a two way street....it shouldn't be just the employer asking all the questions. The candidate should also be asking questions and you should expect the company to answer those questions truthfully and in a timely manner.
If they don't answer questions now, how would it be if I worked there and had a question that needed to be addressed? I've learned this the hard way over the years with other jobs so I won't accept this now from potential employers.
Domande di colloquio [1]
Domanda 1
How do you prioritize your work day and stay organized?
What should you do first when you have a new client (to be case managed)?
Most questions were about how you would organize your day and stay on top of the work (too many questions like this are also a red flag to me. How heavy is the case load if so many questions are about organizing your day and managing your clients)
