Where to begin? Applying was online, followed up with an initial phone screen, which mostly was a discussion of the role and my background. Next step was to be flown to site, this is where issues occurred. Flown into a small rural town with no transportation or contact arranged, and no local taxi service. No rental car was arranged either, effectively stranded me at the airport at midnight on a Sunday. My trip to the hotel took hours, after a flight from Chicago to NY which had 3 layovers. Hotel was booked far from site - with no car and difficult transportation getting to interview was difficult. Aside from an organization and logistical nightmare, interviewers were pleasant and knowledgeable. I presented a research talk and 8 hours of discussion after the travel nightmare I was subjected to, a month later I received an automated rejection. Very pleasant campus like atmosphere but ultimately an incredibly disorganized and frustrating experience.
