Second stage interview, the team were really friendly, made you feel at ease and relaxed, answering questions left room for open discussions.

I recently had the opportunity to interview with Countingup for the CCO role. Overall, my experience could have been better. At a job fair, I first had an informal chat about the company and the role with two of the Countingup staff. After that, a phone interview with their HR. The next stage was a video call with their CEO/Co-Founder. All was good to this point, everyone proved caring and interested, and the process was fluid.
After that last interview, I was moved into the next stage, a take-home task. I committed to delivering a comprehensive task (thorough go-to-market plan) within a relatively short period. The result was a detailed 24-slide deck. Unfortunately, a few days later, I received a rejection email, a generic template from an ATS (Greenhouse), so they did not bother to provide any feedback or input.
I followed up with them to get some feedback (as I have put considerable effort into delivering a tailored plan for Countingup). The contact person was understanding, yet despite the follow-up promise of feedback, this never arrived.
It was clear to me that Countingup did not value my time or efforts. They failed to provide any meaningful feedback or communication, which is a red flag for any job seeker, as they might not care about people when these become disposable.

Countingup approached me through Linkedin to discuss the role and set up a screening call with me. During the call, I was asked whether I was a UK-qualified solicitor and when I explained that I was not, I was told that the interview could not continue as this qualification was a "must" for the role.
I asked why I was approached knowing that I was not qualified in the UK. Apparently, some candidates did not include this information on their Linkedin profiles, therefore they wanted to ask about it during the interview. However, they could have checked this with me ahead of setting up an interview.
This interview wasted my time as I prepared for it quite a lot however, I didn't get the chance of having the full interview. Since I am still working in a full-time job and do have deadlines and a lot of meetings, I do not appreciate how this workplace wasted my time.

We always arrange a short screening call with candidates to ensure they have the right level of experience for the role - we know how precious time is! We send the job description ahead of the screening call so candidates know what we're looking for because we know sometimes not everything can be listed on a Linkedin profile. It looks like on this occasion you didn't have the right experience and we're sorry you feel like we wasted your time, we keep our screening calls short for this purpose. We love speaking to candidates, because whilst you might not be the right fit for one specific role, our team is always growing so you could be a great fit for the future.
