Interview was friendly but severe, I didn't get the scheme and walked out if it feeling I probably had, as they had been very encouraging. I would like to have been questioned a bit more deeply in order for them to see why I was applying, as I consider myself a good candidate.

Fairly basic--filled in an online application form that had the usual section e.g. personal details, work experience, education and several longer questions: Why Covington and Burling? Why law? Details of extra-curricular activities. Received an email a few weeks later inviting me to interview. Interview was conducted by two solicitors, one of whom was Partner level. Interview questions were fairly easy and comprised of: What qualities do you think a solicitor needs? Which of these qualities do you struggle the most with? Why are you a good fit for this firm? Following the interview I was given a tour of the office by one of the trainees.
