Applied online. Easy application. then had a phone interview with a recruiter. Then had a zoom meeting with a recruiter back in 2020. Process was fast and easy. Recruiter was helpful

Positions start extremely low at $14/hr Your expected to have and pay for your high speed internet to work remotely. Work hours start at 7:45am and go as late as 11pm. Weekends are required. One late shift and one early shift a week is required. Questions were basic.. Find SKU# for product. What do I currently do in my position? Tell me about a time you didn’t agree with a decision your employer made? How have you dealt with an angry customer in the past? Here I am, used to managing teams of 25-300 employees but I thought, “okay I’ll entertain these questions” that really don’t even show my skills just to appease the recruiter that looks unmade and like they jumped out of bed to video interview me. I applied for Customer Service Associate not knowing it was an entry position. I had two interviews. I mentioned that I was interested in a Supervisory position to the first person, but would be open to starting at the bottom because of my love for Crate & Barrel, primarily as a consumer myself and the love I have to providing exceptional Customer Service. Needless to say I did not get the customer service position that was entry level probably for mentioning my desire in a management or supervisory roll, and my volunteer work with church, as that drew a “hmm” “I like to take extra notes” when I mentioned it. Hiring recruiter never got back to me about the supervisory position I also applied for, and actually started her conversation with me by saying “Do you want to end this interview right now?” She also couldn’t find my application and questioned if I submitted it when it was clear as day I could see it on my end as submitted. All in all, this was a huge waste of my time and PTO day I took to interview with Crate. They are just trying to fill up these lower positions for the holidays. I was left with a bad impression and not impressed at all by crate and barrel. Recruiters did not look put together. My impression has changed completely after my interview and honesty it was degrading to think professionals are not what your looking to hire but instead a not put together or organized “bed head look” is the preferred face to represent your company! Recruiters looked depressed, hardly were engaging and just like they wanted to get these interviews over with. Nothing about Crate & Barrel makes me want to be a part of it.
