      Colloquio per ADR Engineer I

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Crunchyroll (Dallas, TX) nel mese di set 2022

      Colloquio

About a week and a half after I applied, I heard back from a recruiter via email who wanted to schedule an interview with me. We talked and then she sent me some prep notes for my second interview that would take place in about a week with the ADR Manager who was very nice. Its always great to see women in the studio. About a week out from that I heard back from my recruiter who said she was setting up my panel interview. The wait time for that was about 2 weeks. The panel interview happened on a Thursday via Zoom since I live 4 hours away from Dallas. There were 5 people back to back with a 2.5 hour break in between. So the interview lasted from 11:30-4:30. Everyone had a different theme as far as the questions went. The first interview was with someone who's name I'd seen on the end credits on MANY of my favorite shows. He asked me about my technical knowledge. Microphones, recording techniques, software, the curriculum at the school I got my degree, etc. The second interview was with a director and lead engineer who asked me a lot about my work style. This round was basically about how well I got along with others. The most important thing I was supposed to know was that as the engineer, I have NO creative control over the content and its a knows fact that in this line of work, you have to be ok with that. The third interview was with the IT guy. He was a lot of fun. He basically wanted to know about what I know about the tech. the gear. Can I troubleshoot on my own or will I need to bother him with every frozen screen or technical issue. The 4th person was an executive assistant that oversees scheduling of VA's and other operations. I can't remember much about what we discussed but I know that she was the person who knows everything about everything there is to know about the Dallas office and she's the go-to person for questions and concerns. The final interview was with the engineering manager again. I had already spoken to her before, so we really just chatted about the company, the job, the content, etc. It felt like speed dating but everyone was extremely nice and professional. I felt really good vibes from the people on staff there. Absolutely no doubts about whether I was going to like it there.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Tell me about a time when you dealt with a difficult team member and how did you handle it? What types of equipment have you used? Are you comfortable with ProTools? What's your troubleshooting process? How would you feel if you were told that you had no say in the direction of the voice actors, the writing and the overall content? Tell me about some of the engineering projects you've worked on.
