      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso DC Event Hub (Washington, DC) nel mese di nov 2018

      Colloquio

BY FAR this was the most disrespectful interview I've ever been to. I arrived 10 minutes early to see five other women waiting outside because the building was locked. It wasn't too worrisome at first until more women started showing up and by the time the individual arrived to open the door at least 20+ ladies arrived. That's when we all realized that the company scheduled all of us for the same interview time slot. That was the first red flag to me. Having over a dozen candidates come into interview for the same position at the exact same interview time. Why not just schedule time slots with each person? We already were coming into interview on a Saturday as is and then on top of it they book us all at the same time! It made me feel like I was just a number. Then we enter the building and head to the upper level where we all sit in a group and are informed that this is going to be a conversational group interview. So, while they take one lady at a time to interview, the rest of us will be in the group interview. There was no organized set up for who goes first to interview. They based the time you went to interview on where you were sitting in the room which meant the 9 a.m. scheduled interview for everyone was completely pointless. the group interview was complete bs, which is where my next reg flag is brought up. The entire group interview consisted of the interviewers asking questions that had absolutely nothing to do with anyones experience or background. In other words we were essentially playing the "ice breakers" game often played in school at the start of the semester. So, the whole " group interview" was a fancy way of saying "we need to kill time." What is your favorite ... questions were asked and each person in the group had to answer. None of the questions were challenging or really got you thinking hard. They completely wasted my time, which brings me to the third red flag. My interview was scheduled for 9 a.m. and I wasn't taken upstairs until 12:15 p.m. I waited over three hours to do a 15 minute interview. I was honestly appalled that they didn't value our time at all. One women ended up leaving after two hours because she had another comittment and they weren't willing to work with her. None of us came into this interview planning to stay all morning. The group interview felt like going to a club meeting at school where you try to meet new people and make friends. The biggest factor that left me with a negative vibe was the fact they made me wait three hours for a short interview. After an hour I was ready to leave. The only reason I stayed was because I paid for parking, otherwise I would of walked out like the other women did. So, finally after waiting for three hours and answering bogus questions in a group interview, i'm taken into the one on one interview I, and the rest of the girls, were supposed to have at 9 a.m. First off the man who interviewed me DID NOT ask anything about my background or experience and didn't even reference my resume once. I had asked him a specific question about the role and he used an example saying well i'm the girl with the colored glasses who likes dogs. That made me so uncomfortable. He wasn't present in the group interview, which means the interviewers asking the bogus questions were taking specific notes about our answers and appearance and forwarding it onto this man. What does me liking dogs and wearing glasses have anything to do with my professional experience? He then proceeded to tell me that they have had a high turnover rate lately so they are looking to fill a lot of positions at the moment. The final deal breaker for me was the hours, which he didn't tell me openly. I had to specifically ask the work schedule, which he said would be Tuesday to Sunday with only Mondays off usually working late nights, holidays and weekends. Bottom line is that I walked away from this interview with a very weird vibe. My gut had a very unsettling feeling. This company just seems very sketchy. I interviewed this weekend, so I'm waiting to hear back from them if i'm a candidate they would like to pursue or not, but I have no intention of ever working for them. I hope my experience can help future potential candidates out there.
