Phone interview they told you ALOT about the position. And you were able to explain what you knew about those things and how you would be an asset. Face to face interview was a tag team. They asked ALOT of scenario questions which was good. But it was almost like good cop bad cop. It made it difficult to talk about anything other than what they asked. I truthfully think DSG was one of the hardest interviews I had been on. It was impossible to tell if they liked you or not. Hiring process took a month to get an offer.

A entrevista foi surpreendentemente leve, afastando-se totalmente daquele clima rígido de interrogatório. Ela se apresentou de forma muito humana, demonstrando que realmente tinha estudado minha trajetória antes da chamada começar.

      Colloquio

This company moves incredibly slowly when it comes to the interview process. It took more than a month from start to finish. I first spoke with the hiring manager, then had three separate one-on-one interviews with team members, and finally an interview with the director. There were several things that left me frustrated: 1) Lack of clarity about the process. When I asked the hiring manager what the next steps looked like, I was only told about the panel interview. Nothing about the remaining rounds or who I’d be meeting. It gave the impression that the hiring manager didn’t actually own or understand the full process, which came across as disorganized and a bit unsettling. 2) Repetitive, redundant questioning. Committing to that many interviews only to be asked the exact same types of questions again and again was exhausting. Every person asked some version of “How do you handle pressure or shifting priorities?” and “Why do you want to work at Dick’s?” It made me think the team wasn’t aligned or communicating with each other, which made the whole chain of interviews feel more like repetition than progress. I still prepared thoroughly each time and gave strong answers, but it shouldn’t have been necessary to repeat myself four times. 3) The final interview is where everything fell apart. I genuinely wish this had been the very first interview because it would have saved me weeks. Director-level interviews for analyst roles are usually an opportunity to discuss higher-level thinking, business context, or strategic approaches. Instead, I was given one single question: a logic puzzle. The director of marketing told me this was all he needed to understand how I work and how I handle pressure. After an entire month of interviews, it felt bizarre. It came across less like a thoughtful evaluation method and more like a personal preference being passed off as insight. The tone during that exchange didn’t help either. It felt strangely smug and dismissive of the actual skill set the role requires. All this for a job that pays 72K. Absolutely ridiculous. Overall, I walked away feeling disappointed and honestly a little insulted. I went into this process genuinely excited about the role and the company. But if this is how leadership evaluates candidates, and if this is the level of structure and communication they’re comfortable with, then I think I dodged a bullet.
