The recruiter was excellent. He was informative, friendly, made me feel at ease and even more excited for the potential of getting the job and working for the company. He even gave me pointers on what they're really looking for.
The 2nd interview (virtual) with the hiring manager was not great.. I felt so well prepared and excited for it, most prepared I've ever been for one. But the hiring manager struggled to hear me and immediately blamed me saying it must bs my internet, though I have the fastest internet possible and never have issues. I'm good with technology and tested it all beforehand to avoid this specific situation. It seemed to get better when I switched headsets. Although shaken I maintained my composure and think I did super well and that I had exactly what they were looking for, even though I expected more complicated questions from her. But the hiring manager gave me the impression she was only half listening and she seemed short with me and kind of snippy. At the end when I asked what I could expect for next steps, she gave me a generic "you'll hear from us after our other interviews". After that? NOTHING. Ghosted. Never got so much as an email saying they're moving on with other candidates. Frankly, I was appalled. I wouldn't want to work for a company who treats candidates like that anyways. The interview was over a month ago and still haven't heard. I just cant believe in 2021 this is happening. How hard is it to send a simple email?
