I was referred by two senior managers. The recruiter reached out and scheduled a quick call. All very well, quick and efficient. Things went wry thereafter. I provided details of my avaiability and that I'm about to fly out on afamily vacation. I provided timezones but could not guarantee internet connectivity at the destination and instead asked if I could do the interviews before or after the trip. It seems that my email was completely missed as the interviews were scheduled all over the place. After polite but repeated reminders, the schedule were changed. There was some confusion about being interviewed by my hiring manager. But they couldn't schedule skip level so it stayed as is. A few days later, and after my first few interviews, my presentation was cancelled. Not sure way. Apparently they should only schedule the interview after the last round. From the onset it just felt like I'm going through the process but they really have someone else in mind and this is just a face-saving exercise. I stayed positive until the news came that I narrowly missed the role.
