Colloquio
A recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin, had a conversation, and moved forward with a conversation with the hiring manager. Then a 2 hour take-home assessment homework was sent, I was able to finish it and they gave good feedback, nothing hard it was just following instructions to install/configure their datadog product. The final round is an in-person interview, I enjoyed the conversations with them and everyone was super nice. During the pair troubleshooting session, I was sent 10 links, not really helpful as you won't have time to really go through them and they expect you to keep on talking and making interaction with them. Sure, I get it, you want to understand the train of thought. I was only able to get to the second question out of 5 in an hour. The final round ended with a conversation with the director, who has great vision and we shared an in-depth conversation about the role and the company. He did promise to get back to me and NOT going to ghost me without a word. I followed up with the recruiter in 2 emails but got ghosted without a word. At this point, I will take a systemic rejection email without any feedback. Judging from similar interview reviews and datadog never reaching out to understand what happened is really disappointing.

I interviewed recently for datadog (paris location). I made it to 3 steps - 1. with recruiter
2. Hackerrank test
3. Interview with hiring manager
The first interview had general questions to know more about you and your interest in the role.
Hackerrank test had 4 questions which included - sql, docker installation, datadog agent installation in VM and few other tasks related to it (please go through the documentation), and the last one was a bash coding question. After I cleared the test I met the hiring manager.
This was the stage when I got rejected. Hiring manager had only 30 mins and I felt the time wasn't enough for the whole interview. The person did not show a lot of interest from the start and jumped straight to the regular questions. There was lack of interest from the HM to actually hire anyone and seemed busy with some other work.

30 minute zoom call, no camera. After that was a 30 minute behavioral interview with camera. Everyone was nice but the process felt rigid and was not very enjoyable. I did not make it to the third round of interviews and received a prewritten “we’re sorry” message

Tell me about a time when you needed to lean on your manager but they were not available. How did you handle it?

El proceso de entrevista fue de 5 fases, creo que fue redundante en algunos pasos. La reclutadora con la que trabaje parecia no tener claras las prestaciones y beneficios. En general una experiencia neutra.
