Be prepared for a day-long interview process. You will meet all of the various editors and be interviewed separately by each of them, including those working on the night shifts. You may even be interviewed by the publisher. The questions are fair and expectable, though redundant because of the multiple interviews. Be prepared for the Copy Desk's copy editing quiz. It's straight out of a college class: you will be given a list of sentences and asked to identify if anything is wrong grammatically, factually or in spelling and asked to correct it. While it may be a factor in hiring, the test seems to do more to give editors an understanding of your understanding and doesn't seem to be an immediate disqualifier.
