I recently had a disappointing interview experience with Deck 13. Here are the key issues I encountered:
Unpaid Full-Day Design Test:
-The company required me to complete a game design test that took an entire working day, without any compensation.
-This necessitated taking a day off from my current job.
Utilization of My Work:
-The design solutions I provided were specifically for their ongoing project. This means I essentially contributed to their project for free, which felt exploitative.
Unsatisfactory Job Offer:
-After the extensive and unpaid test, the job offer I received was significantly below the standard salary bracket for the role.
-The offered salary for the lead position was also much lower than my current position, which is at the senior level.
Overall, my experience with Deck 13 left me feeling undervalued and taken advantage of. I would caution others to consider these points before engaging in their interview process.
