I did a two week placement over the summer, then applied for S training contract.
I was interviewed by HR, there were around 20 -25 competency based questions. The questions were quick in succession with not much of a conversational flow. Interviewer did not make any conversation, but to ask questions

It was a 30 min interview mainly competency and commercial questions. It was not a member of the graduate recruitment team so it did feel like a box ticking exercise.

Why Dentons, Why commercial law, who are our competitors
Case study that was non-legal, had to give presentation to associates. A partner interview where you had to advise a client based on a scenario given. Partners would then ask questions based on the scenario to test understanding. Other half of interview was general questions about skills and interests.

Online application; Watson Glaser, followed by a Competency interview, then assessment centre; which includes i. Written Work (1 hour) + Role Play (20 minutes with Associates) ii. Case study + interview (1h 30 with Partners)
